Tokyo College of Sushi & Washoku, London, a satellite branch of Tokyo College of Sushi & Washoku (Tokyo, Japan), is the only college in the UK to offer a unique diploma course, officially certified by the Japanese government. Working closely with the client we developed a brand identity and new website that translated the concept of Tokyo College of Sushi & Washoku (Japan) for a UK audience. Taking inspiration from key principles of simple Japanese design, we created a brand direction that echoed these values.
The exclusive courses run by Japanese instructors, are the first of their kind in the UK. They aim to teach students the principles of Washoku, a social practice based on a set of traditional skills, knowledge and practice related to the production, processing, preparation and consumption of Japanese food. Whilst Japanese cuisine is now globally recognised, traditional, authentic Japanese cuisine often differs greatly from the daily culinary experiences enjoyed in Japan.
